Position: Special Events Volunteer

Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator

Job Description Summary

The special events volunteer assists in planning and implementation of special events and fundraising efforts.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Complete tasks as assigned
  2. Speaking to the community about hospice and Heritage OnCare Hospice
  3. Soliciting sponsorships and donations
  4. Complete accurate, objective, timely documentation of volunteer activities
  5. Participates in relevant education activities to provide competent support to patients and caregivers and to promote professional growth.

Position Qualifications

  1. Strong organizational skills
  2. Willingness to accept direction from Heritage OnCare Hospice leaders
  3. Self-motivated, dependable and responsible
  4. Able to work independently and with others
  5. Must be 16 years of age

In collaboration with a patient's physician & Hospice Medical Director, we focus on quality of life using Expert medical care, pain & symptoms management, and emotional & spiritual support.

  • 2-4 hours per week or as needed
  • Medicare does require that volunteers interacting with patients, other volunteers or employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 HOWEVER, we are open to fully remote volunteers.
