We're seeking local marketing & outreach support for our 5th Annual Lime Connect Century Ride in Reston, VA - hosted on Saturday, October 8th, 2022!

Lime Connect is a global non-profit organization on a mission to "rebrand disability through achievement". We represent the largest network of high-potential university students and professionals - including veterans - who have disabilities in the world. We support their professional journey by attracting, preparing, and connecting them for scholarships, leadership programs, internships and full-time careers with our corporate partners - the world's leading corporations, and more.

Why we ride

Each year, hundreds of passionate riders and supporters around the world join us (in person, and virtually) for the Lime Connect Century Ride (30-, 62- and 100-mile options), which serves as our largest annual fundraiser for a great cause: forging a pathway to success in the workplace for students and professionals - including veterans - with disabilities. Proceeds raised support the Lime Connect Pathways Scholarship for High School Seniors with Disabilities and the professional development of our 20,000+ member Lime Network.

ROLE 1: LOCAL OUTREACH COORDINATOR

We are looking for a volunteer to serve as our outreach coordinator in the Reston, Virginia area. The outreach coordinator's primary responsibility is to identify and develop strategic and local promotional and fundraising relationships, build a pipeline for local volunteers, and attract interest in the Lime Connect Century Ride in the local community. This role will report directly to, and work closely with, the Ride Coordinator. We’re excited to welcome someone with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Local Outreach Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Organizing outreach events, to promote the live and In-Person component of the 5 th Annual Lime Connect Century Ride set for Saturday, October 8, 2022, hosted at The Bike Lane.
• Recruit volunteers from local universities, high schools, service clubs, and organizations to support ride operations.
• Identify and build relationships/partnerships with local businesses, radio stations, bike clubs and organizations through the distribution of posters and post cards, registration drives and fundraising efforts.
• Represent The Lime Connect Century Ride at local events and rides.

Local Outreach Coordinator Requirements:

You are a great fit for this role if you: have a strong understanding of the local Reston, VA area; have great persuasive skills to encourage support of our efforts; and are excited to network on behalf of a great cause.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and management skills.
• Experience with institutional databases, public access sites, and primary research skills.
• Good reporting, technical, and statistical skills.
• Must be able to attend the Century Ride and support day-of coordination.
• Mode of transportation to/from events.

Additional Details: Lime Connect will provide all required materials needed to set up at events, and reimburse for mileage. You will also gain complimentary entry to all Lime Connect Century Ride related events in addition to ride t-shirt, corporate sponsor gifts, and more at the ride.

ROLE TWO: LOCAL BRAND AMBASSADOR

We are looking for a volunteer to serve as our local brand ambassador in the Reston, Virginia area. The Brand Ambassador's primary responsibility is to promote and build awareness of the Lime Connect Century Ride to the local community. The person in this role will work closely with the Outreach Coordinator and Lime Connect Marketing and Communications manager to execute local marketing plans.

To be a successful brand ambassador, you should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Local Brand Ambassador Responsibilities:

• Support Outreach Coordinator in executing calendar of local registration drives, fundraising efforts and other local Lime Connect events and rides.
• Coordinate with Marketing and Communications Manager to develop and distribute localized marketing collateral throughout promotional window (current date through ride week).
• Manage the upkeep of Lime Connect posters and banners around local area as needed
• Represent Lime Connect Century Ride at local events and rides.

Local Outreach Coordinator Requirements:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and management skills.
• Must be able to dedicate time to set-up, breakdown and execution of marketing events (Flexible schedule).
• Must be able to drive, as well as physically carry/set up tables and boxes of marketing materials and store them when not in use until October.
• Mode of transportation to/from events.
