We are always looking for enthusiastic and dedicated friends to join our volunteer team! Connect your skills and passion for history, education, farm life, nature or the outdoors to a rewarding role at the museum. We can’t wait to meet you! We have seasonal opportunities and ongoing. All volunteers (18 years and older) must complete a volunteer application and background check before working at the museum.

Volunteers 12-16 years old must have an adult assist them at the same area.

Anyone under 12 years old is unable to volunteer.

2 Shifts

  • 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM CST - FULL
    Visitor Center Hosts, Farmstead Guides & House Docents work 10 am - 12 pm or 12 pm-2 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
  • 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM CST - FULL
    Visitor Center Hosts and Grounds Guides work 12-2 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays.

The Heritage Farmstead Museum interprets farm life and agricultural history in the 1890s to see what life was like for the North Texas farmer.

Description

The Heritage Farmstead Museum, located in the heart of Plano, is the premier North Texas museum interpreting farm life and agricultural history. Step back in time to the 1890s to see what life was like for the North Texas farmer. We offer hundreds of school field trips and put on special events during the year. The museum is opened to the public Thursdays - Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.

No prior experience is needed, and training is provided.
