Volunteering to be a Saturday Daysite volunteer means you can do a number of helpful tasks:

  • childcare/playing
  • answering phones and giving folks resources
  • cleaning/organizing the daysite
  • stocking the little pantry

Family Promise of Greater Denver is dedicated to serving families experiencing homelessness, meeting their basic needs of shelter and food through compassion and a focus on self-sufficiency!

Description

Family Promise of Greater Denver provides shelter, meals, rental assistance, and supportive services to families experiencing homelessness in the Denver area. We also work with families on employment, long-term housing solutions and other goals to ensure self-sufficiency and a brighter future.

Family Promise of Greater Denver began serving homeless families in 1997 and is part of a national network of 180+ affiliates. Since our founding, we’ve helped more than 1,000 families, including 1,900 children. Today, an average of 70% of families leave with housing and 85% of adults secure employment while they’re in the program!

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • You're committing to one shift a month on a recurring basis. You can sign up for more than one weekend; we just ask that you be consistent. You're expected to cover morning or afternoon, not both, but you can sign up for a whole day, if desired.
  • All adults must undergo a background check; you can donate $5 to cover the costs but are not expected to. All unvaccinated folks are required to wear a mask. We strongly recommend use of masks for vaccinated volunteers but it is not mandatory.
