The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin (ADRC-CW) is currently seeking members for its advisory committee from Marathon, Lincoln and Wood Counties.

Once a month meeting : either virtual or in -person.

Advisory Committee Role: To advise the ADRC-CW staff and board on all matters related to developing a three year aging plan that explores community needs, programs and services to support older adults and adults with disabilities. The advisory committee makes recommendations to the ADRC-CW board of directors who establish policy, procedures and have ultimate decision-making authority. The individual advisory committee member brings unique information and perspective from his/her local communities to the committee.

The ADRC-CW Advisory Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of every other month at 10:00 am until noon. The meeting is held in the ADRC-CW Wausau office boardroom and is open to the public. We also offer a video conferencing and virtual options to meet. Mission: The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin promotes choice and independence through personalized education, advocacy, and access to services that prevent, delay, and lessen the impacts of aging and disabilities in the lives of adults.

Description

ADRC-CW promotes choice and independence through information, personalized options counseling, advocacy, and access to services which prevent, delay, and lessen the impacts of aging and disabilities. We serve adults age 60 years and older and individuals age 17 years 6 months or older with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, substance abuse issues, as well as their families, caregivers, and friends. Our service area includes Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood Counties and we have offices in Antigo, Marshfield, Merrill, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids.

  • Orientation or Training
  • Meetings are 2 hours every other month. Can join in person (meetings are held in Wausau) or join virtually from your home. You may also join virtually from one of offices (Marshfield, Rapids, Antigo, Merrill)
  • Represent the community as an older adults, adult with disabilities (age 18+) or caregiver. Be an ADRC-CW liaison to the community.
