Small Angels Rescue, Inc. has a rewarding opportunity for a volunteer Events Chairperson -At Large Board Member who has a passion for animal welfare and a deep commitment to saving the lives of the smallest and most vulnerable pets. 'Pocket Pets' are often treated inhumanely and discarded when no longer wanted, and it is our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and rats

Requirements:

• Prior experience with event planning is preferred, but not necessary
• Time commitment for this role is 2-3 hours per week will vary depending on the organization's present activity level with events
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license and be able to drive to events in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the work of the Rescue's volunteers who are involved in event planning and attendance, including the team that is formed each year to organize the Annual Picnic
• Provide a communication link between the team and the Board
• Develop the event calendar and ideas for new outreach and fundraising events
• Attendance at the Annual Picnic is required

As an At-Large Board Member, you will participate in Board Meetings. These are held quarterly in-person in Frederick, Maryland, and monthly via teleconference/Zoom.
