ORGANIZATION: Ampact

Math is important in school and beyond. Proficiency is linked to high school graduation, college enrollment, and even lifetime earnings! But in the United States 66% of students reach the 8th grade without learning to do essential math proficiently. Together, we can change this! The amazing thing about our program - we train ordinary people to make an incredible impact as tutors.

Thousands of California kids need help in math and you can make all the difference. Offer your time and talent as a tutor and be more for students in schools in California.

As an Math Tutor, you’ll help students in 4th through 8th grade to become stronger in math. With great training and on-site coaching, we’ll prepare you to work in small groups to help kids develop their math skills and confidence! Students make the most progress when you are there, so our tutors serve during school hours, on school campuses, and are needed for the whole school year.

We are currently recruiting for the 2023-24 school year. Service will begin in August, 2023. Service commitment lasts through June, 2024.

This is an AmeriCorps member position with California Math Corps. Although the earnings are modest, the rewards are great! You’ll join an amazing group of California tutors, determined to help students be more.
