Volunteer opportunities are available at both hospice houses. Wendover- 952 Wendover Heights Dr, Shelby NC 28150 and Testa Hospice House - 321 Kings Mountain Blvd, Kings Mountain NC 28086. Greeter/receptionist, provide friendly support visits to patients/families, help to keep facilities neat and clean, water plants both inside and outside, Help with laundry and possibly in the kitchen.
Volunteers must be fully vaccinated along with verification to be given to the Volunteer Coordinator. Covid precautions are in place- mask must be worn, handwashing, self screening questions to be completed before entering hospice house.

Mission Statement
Hospice Cleveland County exists to provide high quality skilled compassionate care and support for individuals with a life-limiting illness, their families, and the community, regardless of their ability to pay. Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team, filling roles that range from direct contact with patients to providing clerical and fundraising support for the organization. Hospices that participate with Medicare are required to utilize volunteers alongside their paid clinical and administrative staff. Hospice volunteers describe their work as gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful. Hospices require a lot from their volunteers and value them greatly.
