  • Greet people at reception desk, give directions, or more desirable, escort patients to treatment area (take by wheelchair if needed)
  • Assist patients from lobby entrance to treatment areas
  • Take STAT lab specimens to tube station and send or transport lab specimens if station is down.
  • Pick-up blood units in Blood Bank, make trips to Medical Records, pick up supplies at Supply distribution services and various other depts. Take specimens to pathology
  • Help with making blank charts for unit use
  • Pick up and distribute lunch (sandwich, fruit, drink) to patients and offer snacks/drinks throughout shift. Make coffee (for patients) and replenish Nourishment Area.
  • Offer blankets/pillows for comfort. Stock blanket warmers (2) with blankets and towels.
  • Check refrigerator and drawers for outdated food items and make sure an "opened" date is on any opened liquids in refrigerator
  • Wipe down chairs/beds in between patients with hospital approved wipes, per manufactures instructions. Gloves must be worn and wet to dry reviewed
