For this opportunity you will open your home and heart to a special cat. We will provide everything you need. There are two types of fosters we are looking for.

Short-term fosters take in our adoptable cats and keep them until they are adopted or moved on to another rescue. We provide everything you need. You provide the love and care, and transportation to and from medical appointments set to your schedule.

Forever fosters take on special cases like senior cats or blind cats - special needs with simple care. They will remain for the life of the cat. We provide everything. You provide the love and care, and transportation to and from medical appointments set to your schedule.

Coppers Cat Commune is dedicated to the lifetime care of a limited population of ill, disabled, immune compromised, senior, or otherwise adoption challenged cats. We also provide adoption services for a limited number of adoptable cats.

Description

Copper's Cat Commune was started by Mimi Baker with the help of her husband Matt, two people with a real passion for cats. We believe that every cat deserves a chance at a happy life, regardless of the hand life has dealt them. That is what we are here to do. We provide a safe place for those with nowhere else to go. We work with paraplegic cats, fecal incontinent cats, senior cats, basically cats that no one else wants or has the capability to handle. All of our cats are available for adoption if someone truly wants to undertake the level of care that some of our cats need, but we plan to give them a home for life.

Our cats have both indoor and safe outdoor access. We have cat enclosures around the property. We have many feral cats as well that have there own enclosures and shelters. Our goal is to ensure that our cats are as happy as they can be. That is the whole purpose of living life.

  • Fostering a single cat or even two cats takes about as much time as having a pet or two. If there are health issues, there may be more time involved with vet visits, but that is hard to predict.
  • A home visit is also required.
