Stepping On is an evidenced based prevention program that is designed for older adults to reduce the risk of falling. The program is led by 2 trained individuals and is 2 hours a week for 7-8 weeks. We are looking for an another leader to be trained. If you are interested in working with small groups of 8-15 individuals along with a co-leader - please contact us to learn more. If you are age 60+, you can be trained locally by an ADRC staff person to be a "Peer Leader."

Interest in helping others gain knowledge skills and confidence and ultimately preventing falls.

Description
ADRC-CW promotes choice and independence through information, personalized options counseling, advocacy, and access to services which prevent, delay, and lessen the impacts of aging and disabilities. We serve adults age 60 years and older and individuals age 17 years 6 months or older with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, substance abuse issues, as well as their families, caregivers, and friends. Our service area includes Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood Counties and we have offices in Antigo, Marshfield, Merrill, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids.

- After training, we ask volunteer leaders to provide one program a year = one program is 2 hours a week for 7-8 weeks. We work with your and the co-leader's availability to schedule programs. Help may be needed for set up/clean up before each class.
