Opportunity Overview:
We are looking for a volunteer to help process and hand out OSV permits this season. The OSV program is incredibly popular. Come join us to make sure this season is a success!
Each year, thousands of visitors enjoy the beauty of the beaches of the Islands with Oversand Vehicle (OSV) permits. These permits allow vehicles to explore acres of open space to find peaceful spots for fishing, nature viewing, beach exploration, swimming, or family adventures. Permits are required to ensure the health and safety of the animals and plants that are critical to the beach ecosystem.
This position is great for someone interested in learning and/or supporting the administrative side of property stewardship, meeting people, and being part of a team.

What does a OSV Support Volunteer do?
- Engages and welcomes visitors via walk-ins and explains benefits of membership and Oversand Vehicle permits.
- Documents and issues Oversand Vehicle permits and memberships
- Provides other administrative services such as filing, typing, copying, faxing, mailing, etc.
- Able to use computers with preferred skills including internet searches, Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher (varies with the project)
- Excellent communication skills, especially writing and editing
- Must be able to sit and type on a computer for extended periods of time
- Able to work effectively in an open office setting shared with other staff in the Vineyard Haven office.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18
- Volunteer shifts will be between 9 am-2 pm Monday-Friday with a flexible schedule. Preferred 5 or more hours per week (ideally in one block) from mid-April to late-May.
