SoulPhamm is looking for committed, energetic and creative individuals to serve on its Advisory Board.
As a new organization that provides sports, arts and educational programs for youth in New Jersey and New York City, we are in need of a team of people who will help us find resources, plan events and programs for our future leaders.
For the next few months, residents from NY and NJ will meet together as we discuss ways to deepen the reach of the entire organization, but ultimately, they will break into separate groups to work through how to best serve the youth from each state (as the needs and resources are different).
The group currently virtually meets once a month of Monday evenings at 6pm for about an hour. We also have an online workgroup to allow for more frequent interaction as we develop projects. We will meet until June, break over the summer and then return in late August.
No particular skill is needed, but we would encourage professionals from every field to apply. In the upcoming season, Advisory Board members will be welcome to create programs that they can facilitate for youth and families.

Description
Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.
SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
