ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Greater New York Region

American Red Cross is looking for great leaders to provide leadership and perform logistics duties during preparedness, response, and recovery within its service area in NYC. This is the perfect opportunity for volunteers who want to be out in their communities, help with special events, work independently as well as with a team, and work with logistics!

Requirements:

  • Must have a clean and valid driver's license and be comfortable driving in NYC! We love those who have a CDL! :)
  • Must be able to commit volunteers hours both during regular business hours during the week as well as occasional evenings/weekends and good flexibility to support during unplanned disaster events throughout NYC
  • Must be 18 yrs of age or older

Responsibilities:

  • Work on vehicle tracking, acquisition of materials, facilities, and warehousing
  • Maintain a list of all fleet vehicles, ensuring routine maintenance is completed on all vehicles and maintaining service records
  • Ordering supplies
  • Facility inspections
  • Local procurement
  • Storing supplies
  • Driving/moving vehicles both large and small

Time Commitment:

  • Daytime (during business hours), Monday through Friday as well as occasional weekends and evenings
  • Volunteer in the office and in the field
  • Must commit to taking many hours of online training upon starting role to understand Logistics within the American Red Cross
