Recruiting Organization: Institute for Research on Male Supremacism

The Institute for Research on Male Supremacism is seeking new board members to join our team shaping and supporting our efforts to support research and action to challenge misogyny and transmisogyny. We have particular needs with respect to financial oversight, legal experience, and fundraising, in addition to encouraging organizers, journalists, and researchers interested in influencing the efficacy our programmatic work.

Our board of directors is partially a working board, with the aim of moving toward a more professional oversight board as our fundraising permits more paid staff. Some of our current board board members take a hands on approach to supporting our fellow and mentee program, communications, and other aspects of our operations. The area and type of contribution for new board members is flexible, with an estimated expectation of about 5 hours/month on board service, including a once-monthly 90-minute board meeting.

We encourage candidates from historically and systematically marginalized communities, and have space for both a first-time board member looking to gain more experience, and more experienced board members seeking to contribute. There is no minimum contribution or fundraising requirement for IRMS board members.
