SAA’s volunteer support group leaders share a common goal of bringing the community together. They strive to provide support, education, encouragement and co-create with group members dynamic, supportive, and informative meetings. Although helpful if the support group leader is living with the disease, it is by no means a requirement.

Since our founding in 1983, the Spondylitis Association of America (SAA) has been the face, voice, and leading national nonprofit organization educating, empowering, and advocating for people living with spondyloarthritis. Through our extensive work with patients, the medical community, and partners we provide information and resources to help people impacted by the disease live better lives and champion research to find a cure.

Description

Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is a form of spinal arthritis which generally attacks young people in the prime of life and which can cause permanent disability in severe cases. Founded in 1983 by a group of spondylitis patients, SAA is a nonprofit volunteer health organization serving the nearly three million people who suffer from SpA.

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Six meetings a year. Each meeting lasts up to 90 minutes.
