SoLa I CAN Mission

The SoLa I CAN Foundation (est. 2017), the 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of SoLa Impact, is built on a simple premise: If you CAN see it, you CAN be it. SoLa aims to improve the lives of South LA residents through access to educational, technological, and economic opportunities. We work towards uplifting underserved Black and brown communities using our four pillars of change: 1) Access to Career Development & Entrepreneurship; 2) Access to Education & Tech Innovation; 3) Access to Financial Literacy & Economic Mobility; 4) Access to College Readiness & Scholarships.

Impact

To connect the South LA community with 21st century opportunities, SoLa I CAN is excited to open the doors to the SoLa Technology and Entrepreneurship Center. The first of its kind in South LA. We are providing FREE after-school programs to middle and high school students to learn and discover new essential skills in areas like graphic design, coding, game design, robotics, and more. With access to the newest technology, students will be immersed in everything from virtual reality to gaming and everything in between all in a fun and covid safe environment. SoLa Impact is seeking energetic, passionate counselors to join us for numerous volunteer opportunities at the center.

Spring Programming: TEC

As a Tech Center Counselor Volunteer, you will play a critical role in creating an empowering environment for our participants. From assisting with setup to encouraging students to express their creativity through their projects, you will be a part of the team that assures our participants leave the center prepared and confident to explore new career opportunities that they would not otherwise have. In addition to assisting our participants, you will have the opportunity to work alongside mission driven individuals invested in elevating those helping us carry out our mission.
