ORGANIZATION: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - North Central Florida Chapter - Orlando

  • 3 people are interested

Great Strides provides a fantastic opportunity for family, friends, students, and colleagues to come together and make a difference. The event harnesses the power of people with a shared vision and encourages collaboration, team building, and leadership, as we take steps to find a cure for cystic fibrosis. Your participation in Great Strides matters a lot! We don’t just want to treat CF, we want to end CF. The time is now. Together, we can cross the finish line.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that causes problems with breathing and digestion. CF affects about 35,000 people in the United States. People with CF have mucus that is too thick and sticky, which

  • blocks airways and leads to lung damage;
  • traps germs and makes infections more likely; and
  • prevents proteins needed for digestion from reaching the intestines, which decreases the body’s ability to absorb nutrients from food.

We need volunteers for the following positions:

  • SET-UP
    • Tents
    • Greet/Welcome Area
    • Walk Route Signs
