Kindred Hospice- Oak Brook is looking for many volunteers who are willing to volunteer within several miles of where they live. We serve hospice patients wherever they call home: at their skilled nursing facilities, memory care centers, assisted living facilities, or their brick and mortar homes. Kindred Hospice wants to send you to visit one or two of our patients so you can make a difference in their lives.
What you do is very open but generally speaking our volunteers will: have a conversation with our patients, watch TV/movies together, play games (word searches, crossword puzzles, board games, card games, etc), color adult coloring pages, put together a puzzle, take walks, look at photos, listen to music, read out loud to the patient, pray or watch an online church service, play guitar for the patient, sing to the patient, paint nails, do a craft, use a buddha board, or whatever else you can think of!
We will train you and go with you on your first visit. We can work with any schedule.
Come be a light to those going through a dark time!
