Mission Statement

The purpose of the Michigan Volunteer Registry (MVR) is to provide an electronic environment for volunteers to indicate their credentials, interests, and contact information for helping to support a state public health or medical emergency response.


The Michigan Volunteer Registry is used to register, notify, and inform individuals who are interested in volunteering in the event of a natural or public health emergency.

  • Orientation or Training
  • Most volunteer opportunities occur at the local county level on an episodic, as-needed basis. Deployments may last from a few hours to several days.
  • Applicants must complete an online application and upload copies of all applicable licenses and certifications. Volunteers may also be required to complete FEMA training courses prior to participation in a deployment.
