Old Bethpage Village Restoration is a 19 th century living history museum located on 209 acres. The goal of Old Bethpage Village Restoration is to educate and inform guests about Long Island life during the mid-nineteenth century by way of interpretations, historic trade demonstrations and events. OBVR is run by a mixture of staff and volunteers, both of which are crucial to the success of the museum. Our volunteers are costumed interpreters, meaning that they are dressed up in mid-1800’s clothing, stationed in one of our restored buildings and talking about history from a modern perspective. Volunteers give tours, assist with demonstrations, and help with special events. Volunteers must be 14+ and volunteers under 18 years old must provide valid working papers. This is a weekly opportunity on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Volunteers must commit to 1 day per week.
