Conservation: Interns will assist with grassroots campaigning for land conservation issues occurring in the East Bay. Duties may include: outreach, volunteer organization, public speaking, environmental document analysis (EIR), media outreach, web development, and letter writing. Restoration duties may include outreach, volunteer organization, education and monthly restoration field project participation. The positions require 2 to 12 hours a week for 3 to 12 months and are on a volunteer basis. University students are encouraged to seek out opportunities through their colleges to get credit for their work. Interns work closely with staff but may take on considerable independent responsibility if willing and capable. We provide a well-respected reference in the field of conservation and field botany. We are glad to work around intern's other work and educational commitments. Positions are expected to be unpaid. Projects and responsibilities will be developed with intern in order to augment the internship experience.
