Special Projects Volunteer:

Our Special Projects Volunteers can offer support in a variety of ways: baking, creating crafts or cards for special occasions, knitting or crocheting lap blankets, providing musical entertainment, or assisting staff with errands, fundraising and outreach events. The sky is the limit, and we are open to hearing new ideas.

Here's some examples:

  • Crocheting, Knitting or sewing a Lap Blanket
  • Making Fidget sleeves or blankets
  • Painting inspirational rocks
  • Coloring sheets of animals, flowers, or seasonal messages etc.
  • Making stress relief balls
  • Creating Floral Birthday Cakes
  • Alter adult clothing by adding slits or snaps, to making dressing easier
  • Make neck pillows, rice heating pads, etc.
  • Bake cookies or favorite items
  • Create aromatherapy containers
  • Make stuffed animals or dolls for our patients to enjoy

We look for items can:
  • Comfort dementia, Alzheimer's or agitated patients
  • Honor our Veteran Patients
  • Aid in dressing
  • Provide comfort while resting in bed or chair
  • Help keep patients warm and secure
  • Brighten patients room
  • Make someone's day
  • Be mindful and lower stress & anxiety
