Interns may complete this internship for student service hours or, depending on their school policy, college credit.
We are adding to our team of mission-driven young people from all around the country to help participate in activism on many progressive/social justice issues including Black Lives Matter, ending gun violence, climate change, and voter turnout efforts for the 2022 elections!
Unpaid remote internship, 5-30 (flexible) hours per week, remote, end date flexible.
This is a great opportunity for those looking to effect change in their community, refine their activist efforts, and meet other like-minded young people! Interns will collaborate on a variety of tasks, communicate regularly, and meet virtually on a weekly basis. This is a collaborative internship where interns will develop their democratic competency. Interns will participate in civic actions, work on voter turnout projects, perform targeted outreach, engage in advocacy and activism, find and participate in volunteer opportunities together, attend the TurnUp Speaker Series, as well as do activism related research and writing. Most importantly, they will work together to advocate for issues important to young people, fight voter suppression and boost youth voter turnout. Upon completion, interns are prepared to go forward being civically responsible and engaged activists!
Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the following:
Interest in social justice and civic engagement
Ability to work effectively in a team
Interpersonal and communication skills
End date: Flexible
TurnUp will accept applications on a rolling basis until all team positions are filled.
