Recruiting Organization: Womankind

Womankind works with survivors of gender-based violence to rise above trauma and build a path to healing. Through the power of relationships, we strive to help survivors achieve internal harmony and develop a renewed sense of belonging.

Womankind brings critical resources and deep cultural competency to help survivors of all ages find refuge, recovery, and renewal from domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence. Through our programs, we offer a wide variety of services in 18+ Asian languages and dialects, including: a toll-free 24/7 multilingual helpline, safe and confidential emergency housing, culturally informed counseling, family law and immigration legal assistance, wellness activities, creative arts therapy, support groups, and economic empowerment workshops. We are an expert in serving Asian communities, yet our services are valuable and available to all. Whether in our services or in our increasing advocacy and policy work, Womankind first centers the survivor by uplifting them to control their own lives and narratives.

We are in need for volunteers who would be opened to translating Korean for our survivors who are 50 years and older.

Program: Later in Life

Description:

• Translate materials from English to Korean (CA Booklet and Flyer)
• Zoom Tech orientation for Older Adults
• Participate in the group virtually.

Translation for materials needed ASAP; Facilitation/Tech support needed once the group begins on 4/5:

Schedules: Biweekly group taking place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month

from 4/5/22-8/2/22 1:30pm-3:30pm

Selection Process: Screening Resume and language test by Korean-speaking advocate
