The Montgomery Park's Activation Team is looking for energetic volunteers to be a part of Salsa in the Park. Previous customer service and event experience a plus! Bilingual volunteers are encouraged to apply for this opportunity. We will have 6 events at different parks - see below for all of the dates and locations:
- Thursday, August 4, 2022 | Wheaton Forest Local Park |
- Thursday, September 15, 2022 | Long Branch-Arliss Neighborhood Park |
At the start of the shift, volunteers will be setting up chairs, tables, & decorations as well as assisting vendors in setting up their stations. During, volunteers will help monitor the event by keeping an eye on guest safety as well as cleaning up the event space of trash. Volunteers will be responsible for reporting any necessary information to the on-site Park staff. After the event, volunteers will help break down the event space and pack up Park vehicles.
Volunteers will be given lanyards with name tags so guests can spot them. Dinner will be provided for volunteers at the event (options will vary and communicated via email from Park staff prior to the event).
This opportunity is approved for SSL Hours.

Our agency is located just north of Washington D.C., and was originally created to protect the stream valleys around the D.C. area. We have grown into a 34,000 acre park system with over 400 local, urban and regional parks; recreation centers; ballfields; playgrounds; nature centers, a botanic garden and over 200 miles of trails.

- We have 6 events throughout the summer, each event is 6 hours long, but you only have to sign up for one (but can sign up for all if you like!).
- Enjoy working outdoors, and with the public. Physically able to help set up and take down tables and chairs. Spanish speaking a bonus!
