Adaptive Archery Assistant
Join our fun group of archers, new and experienced! Assist participants with disabilities to learn and grow in the sport of archery by helping to teach strategy, technique, and safety. Serve as a role model and provide encouragement and positivity to participants as they learn the recreational and competitive components of archery.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the ability to focus and work in a positive, fun, team environment
- Become familiar with the rules and safety aspects of the sport to teach the participants
- Assist participants in equipment set-up, aiming, scoring, and getting a bullseye!
- Discuss and record goals after each session with the participant and set goals for the next week

- Enjoy and gain knowledge of the sport of archery through assisting and teaching participants

Volunteer orientation is at 5:30pm on Monday, April 10, 2023.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some archery knowledge and experience preferred, but not required
- Enjoy archery, volunteering in a positive and social community, and learning more about the sport by teaching participants
- Ability to encourage and interact with participants (youth and adults with disabilities) and other volunteers in a patient and positive manner
- Instruct and assist participants in a 1:1 setting and keep track of goals week-to-week
Time Commitment: Mondays, April 17-May 22, 2023, 6:00-8:00 pm (three 45 minute lessons, volunteers determine availability with Site Coordinator).
