Our organization, "The Undivide Project", is off to a strong start. We have a mapping partnership with ESRI that will help us tell communities stories and advocate about the true causes and impacts of the digital divide. We have a lot of in-kind support as well. This will help us get into communities.
Ironically, an organization that is so digitally focused needs to "up its social media game". I am looking for a volunteer that can run our Twitter account, occasionally update the website and help develop our Discord community. This would be great for someone looking to build their portfolio or sphere of influence.
Knowledge of social media content distribution and hashtag use is a baseline qualification. Knowledge of online campaigns and/or fundraising would be a most welcome contribution. Don't worry if you don't know about climate change and disaster resilience as I am happy to teach and share!

Mission Statement
The Undivide Project is the start of a body of work focused on undoing the so-called "Digital Divide" by working directly with communities. The first phase of our work will be directed towards understanding the impacts of digital divestment. We will offer bespoke solutions and implementation support reflective of community conditions. The next phase of the Undivide Project will focus on building community resilience using Internet tools. After that... we will let our community partners lead the way.
Description
This is an an organization dedicated to creating climate resilience in underserved communities via Internet infrastructure and service centered IoT solutions. There are two initial pilot communities. One in the Washington, DC Metro Area and one in rural Louisiana. The goal is to understand the needs of communities with very different needs and offer a more informed view of digital divide issues. Next, we will consider a variety of U.S. and global communities to continue our work around the digital divide, access and resilience.
