Hospice volunteers play a vital role in hospice care. You can help support patients, caregivers, and their families directly. Direct care volunteers can provide support and comfort by assisting in light household chores, sitting and providing comforting companionship, and also playing games or listening to music with the patients. Volunteers help hospice organizations provide a higher level of care and by providing these patients a higher quality of life. Come make a difference today and share your unique talent with the community.
Still want to volunteer but maybe not directly with a patient or their family? We have Indirect Volunteer opportunities at our main office in Shawnee if you would prefer more clerical type work.

Description
Appl Orchard Hospice is a local physician-owned type of palliative care for terminally ill patients and support for their families. Hospice focuses on controlling pain and symptoms and is generally provided at the patient’s home, but it can be a separate residence or part of a nursing home.
