This opportunity is for you if you are passionate about libraries and literacy. Interested to spread great news about a new nonprofit? Come play a strategic role in establishing our digital presence and managing our social media with a variety of channels including Facebook. In collaboration with our Board, your writing and copy-editing skills can help us develop marketing collateral, from print brochures to eye-catching posts, to broaden the Foundation’s reach into our community. If you’re experienced with social media campaigns or want to refine and expand your skills, we’d love to hear from you.

The Penfield Public Library Foundation enhances financial support for the Penfield Public Library. The Foundation was established to strengthen and enrich the highest level of library experience for patrons at the Penfield Public Library. We fundraise and invest to grow long-term income for the library in support of its mission.
The Penfield Public Library Foundation (PPLF), founded in 2019, is dedicated to enhancing long-term financial support for our library. The Foundation welcomes unrestricted donations through corporate matching gift contributions, estate bequests, endowments, and charitable planned giving. Honor and memorial gifts are also accepted. Your contributions support the development of the library’s resources beyond the annual funding from town taxes. Your volunteer participation on our board, in our committee work, and fundraisers are other ways to help.
The PPLF currently has two goals: to build an endowment to maintain our excellent library for future generations and to provide support for the more immediate needs of our library patrons. The Penfield Public Library serves the informational, cultural, and recreational needs of 36,000 residents. The library’s collection includes more than 188,000 items, along with technology, programs, and gathering spaces to meet informal learning needs of patrons of all ages. Each year the Foundation has financed special enhancements based on the library’s needs and available funds.
The Penfield Public Library Foundation is the library’s newest nonprofit support organization. For more than 40 years, the library has also been assisted by members of the Friends of the Penfield Public Library. The Friends, well known for their annual book sale, have supported quality library service since 1977. Like the Foundation, the Friends always welcome new volunteers.
