Living and working with orphans in Ghana, Benin, Cameroon, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Senegal, Namibia, Swaziland, Lesothos, is full of fun. The children are very grateful and welcome every little thing you do to help them.

To be in an orphanage is a very great relief to these children and brings joy to their lives. The situation in these children's homes and communities tells you at a glance why they prefer to stay in the orphanage. HIV/AIDS, unemployment, abuse, and poverty are very prevalent. STAESA's orphanage program in Africa provides a great opportunity to work very closely with children aged 2 months to 17 years, most of whom lost their parents to HIV/AIDS.

The big smiles and love of these children towards volunteers leaves lots of memories in their minds hence often making it difficult to part ways from the kids at the end of the program. STAESA participants work very closely with the children.

The volunteers teach basic and conversational French, Maths, game, computer lessons, helping in the kitchen, feeding the babies, drawing, washing the children, and other creative activities. Other subjects can also be taught if you have knowledge or experience in those subjects. The program is designed in such a way that no matter where you find yourself in Africa, you will have fun with the orphans.

STAESA's Orphanage program operates in cities surrounding villages. Project location very safe, Communities are very welcoming and the orphans are very kind and lovely. STAESA extends your program to the poor in the villages where you have the opportunity to give a plate of food to someone. Weekends are always free for the volunteers to travel for sightseeing. Please note: you will first been taking through an observation period - kind of showing you how to go about the program for at least a week before you will be allowed to handle the program on your own.
