Housed in the Development Team, the Fandom Forward Engagement Coach works to make our community inviting, accessible, and fun for our members. The Engagement Coaches handle both broad engagement projects and one-on-one interactions with members. This volunteer position will work closely with Fandom Forward members to build relationships and strengthen our community. We’re looking for someone who is friendly, passionate about community-building, and has a reliable work ethic.

This position reports to the Development Team Lead and will require an average of 5 volunteer hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work 1:1 with members to help identify opportunities for deeper engagement and growth
  • Follow up with members who seem to be disengaging (i.e. email unsubscribes)
  • Work with donors to help identify their passions within Fandom Forward and thank them for their support
  • Drive ongoing community engagement projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Organized, efficient, and dedicated self-starter
  • Experience using databases a plus
  • Experience with donor management, outreach, or community development activities a plus
  • Interest in social change and activism
  • Interest in stories, fandom, and popular culture

Our members and chapters have raised over $123,000 for Partners In Health and sent five cargo planes of life-saving supplies to Haiti, compelled Warner Bros. to change the sourcing of their Harry Potter chocolate to be 100% UTZ or Fairtrade, and donated of over 315,000 books across the world through our Accio Books campaign, among much more!
