We are searching for an engaged and motivated individual to serve as our organization’s event chair to coordinate and execute our chapter’s educational workshops, monthly meetings, and networking events. This is an area that we have not dedicated support to in the past and we are excited to dedicate focus to local events. You will be responsible for every part of event and workshop preparations, such as choosing venues, approving menus, executing digital event registration, and evaluating success afterward.

As the event chair, you should be well-organized and experienced in event management or excited to learn about event management. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on delivering highly effective local events and workshops.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the requirements and expectations for each event.
  • Liaise with chapter members, local chambers of commerce, local business partners, vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order.
  • Execute event registration and manage attendance recording.
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing team to effectively promote events
  • Manage and routinely update a community calendar of local events that support small businesses.
  • Manage all event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes.
  • Maintain event budgets.
  • Book venues, entertainers, photographers, and schedule speakers.
  • Conduct final inspections on the day of the event to ensure success.
  • Assess an event’s overall success and submit findings.

SCORE provides resources for free, or at minimal cost, to help small business owners expand and grow their business. By volunteering in this role, you would make a significant impact within your local community by helping to build our team of experienced business mentors who in turn assist small businesses.
