Description of Role: The Camp VolunTeen will represent a variety of interests at the Kentucky Historical Society. Teens will assist teachers and KHS staff execute our signature week-long program for youth ages 6-12. Help facilitate hands on activities, games, interact with special guests, and interact with campers. Help us provide the best camp experience ever. We can’t do this without you!

Primary Responsibilities: Tasks vary widely based on the general need of each camp. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

· Commit to an entire week of KHS summer camp

· Assist in KHS programs where campers are present to help create a safe and fun environment

· Participate in camp activities, sharing enthusiasm for each activity.

· Help guide, motivate, and instruct the campers during each activity period.

· Work with teachers and KHS staff to meet the needs of the campers.

· Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilities

· Committing to and upholding all camp rules

· Set a good example for your campers

· Enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures

· Follow Teacher instructions, provide support and help with cleaning up of activities, snack breaks, and programs

· Interest in history, art, education, and childcare are a plus!
