Position Policy Volunteer
Impact Statement Our aim? To see all of the women who come to us enter the workforce as financially independent, self-sufficient members of the labour market, free from the impacts of trauma and abuse that previously held them back.
Description Seeking a volunteer to join our dynamic Policy & Procedure Committee. This is a great opportunity to work with members of our board and senior leadership to research, evaluate and develop policy for a progressive and innovative social service organization. Volunteers should have knowledge of or willingness to learn research, writing, and policy creation skills.
Training Details We will provide any necessary background on our mission and programs, as well as Committee terms of reference.
Working Conditions Occasional meetings (at our office or another convenient location) and then wherever is convenient for the volunteer. If the volunteer would prefer to work out of our office and/or use one of our computers, that can be arranged.
Minimum Duration 6 months, ideally ongoing
Timing Anytime
Time Detail Evening Committee meetings every two months, plus additional meetings for project teams. Outside that, 4-8 hours per month according to your own schedule for research and writing tasks.
