Care initiatives Hospice is a service of one of the largest health care networks in the state of Iowa. Care Initiatives Hospice is committed to providing a high quality of life to patients and their families as life's final months and processes unfold.

Care Initiatives Hospice offices are located throughout the state. We are full service, not-for-profit community-based hospice ready at any time to serve patients and families wherever they may reside; a personal residence, a nursing facility or a retirement community.

Volunteers are a vital part of our team and make a big difference in many lives. As a Care Initiatives Hospice volunteer, you'll discover it is extremely rewarding to work with patients and their families or "behind the scenes" to help make everything run smoothly. Volunteer opportunities are as unique as you are. We provide training and support appropriate for your interest area. Volunteers come from all walks of life.
How Do I Volunteer:
You can become a Care Initiatives Hospice volunteer by contracting the office closest to you. Both short and long term opportunities are available. We can find a place that matches your interests, skills, and availability. We recommend that individuals who have experienced a significant death wait at least six months to one year after the death before becoming a hospice volunteer.

Care Initiatives Hospice is committed to providing a high quality of life to patients and their families as life's final months and processes unfold. We provide an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to delivering high quality, coordinated care with compassion, respect and dignity to Iowans and their families living with serious illness and loss.

Volunteers are a vital part of the hospice team and can make a big difference in someones life. Volunteers can help by listening to memories and stories, holding a hand, reading a story, playing games, baking cookies, visiting someone at home, or helping around the office.

Care Initiatives Hospice began providing care in March 2009 from 6 locations in Iowa: Albia, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Greenfield, Sioux City, and Waterloo. Care Initiatives Hospice is a part of the Care Initiatives network of senior care providers located throughout the state.
