Come help over 1000 Girls on the Run participants, plus community runners complete a 5k in Vasona Park on Saturday, May 21st! We need 200 volunteers to help the girls run the race safely and enjoy the party after the run. This is an in person event and our 20th Anniversary!

Volunteers are needed to cheer participants on as course monitors, to hand out water, to present medals at the finish line, to help with setup, registration, clean up and so much more.

The 5K is a great volunteer opportunity for students, clubs, organizations, corporations and local businesses to come together and serve the community.

Our proven, research-based curriculum creatively uses running as a tool to teach life skills that increase confidence, critical-thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.

Description

Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley (GOTRSV) was founded in 2002, the first Girls on the Run council in California. Over the past 19 years, GOTRSV has impacted more than 20,000 girls in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties.

The Girls on the Run curriculum is one of only three after-school programs recognized by the Harvard Graduate School of Education as a top social-emotional learning (SEL) experience for kids.
