Best Friends Animal Society is on a mission to end the killing of cats and dogs in America's shelters by 2025. Best Friends also places a priority on being inclusive and welcoming so anyone who wants to be a part of the animal lifesaving movement can contribute in a meaningful way. Because one in five Americans live with a disability, we have created an Accessibility Partner volunteer opportunity that will enhance inclusiveness by making our volunteer opportunities accessible to individuals with disabilities or unique challenges. We are currently recruiting an Accessibility Partner volunteer to partner with one of our Member Appreciation Caller volunteers who has sight limitations. This is a virtual volunteer opportunity you can do from the comfort of your home. If you have experience with technology for people with sight loss or you’re not afraid to learn new technology and identify creative solutions to assist this volunteer in performing the Member Appreciation Caller role, please email us at bfvolcoord@bestfriends.org.
Just like Waffle House who is a seeing-eye bunny for his sister, IHop, you can help another volunteer with sight limitations contribute to our cause and you will both have a meaningful and rewarding volunteer experience!
