This stipend eligible position is for the January - May 2023 time frame. Includes a $1500 stipend paid; half paid in March and remaining half in May. The Arc Minnesota’s Program Strategic Initiatives intern will directly support our statewide Program Team by:

• Participating in the planning & implementation of systems change efforts
• Assisting with strategic planning, community messaging, staff development and workflow processing
• Providing administrative, logistical, project management, and/or evaluative support in collaboration with and under supervision of the Associate Program Director and Chief Program Officer

Specific duties may include:

• Support Strategic Projects and Initiatives across all programs
  • Collaborate within program team areas and across organizational departments
• Support disability & racial justice initiatives
• Assist with ongoing development and implementation of an equity framework that promotes anti-ableism, and anti-racism in all programs and services statewide
• Support programmatic evaluation
  • Design and disseminate surveys and other evaluation methodologies
  • Process information received and provide recommendations
  • Analyze and support implementation of Human Centered Design principles and practices
• Co-facilitate Program Team Work Planning meetings
• Document ideas, questions, concerns, and possible solutions
• Analyze discussion themes and create possible next steps or scenarios
• Create power points, summary documents, work plans and other pieces of communication to share with staff, The Arc Minnesota stakeholders and the community at-large
• Support the planning and implementation of Program Related Conferences
• Support outreach efforts to inform stakeholders about The Arc services and resource
  • Host booths and deliver presentations at community event
  • Engage in conversations to other community members and organizations
• Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of services and supports for individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and their families
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills necessary
• Ability to successfully work both as a team member and independently
• Willingness to learn, be coached and be mentored
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills, manages multiple priorities and follows a project through to completion; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
• Multiple language capabilities and lived experiences preferred, but not required

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week for the September 2022 - May 2023 time frame. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
