AMSS serves senior residents in Montgomery County who are homebound, isolated, chronically ill, and disabled regardless of their ethnicity, race, creed, and gender. We operate a food pantry of perishable and non-perishable items. In addition to that we provide hot meals.
First and Third Saturday of the Month:
The volunteers need to be at the food panty between 10:00AM-12:00PM for bagging the items. SSL hours will be calculated towards packaging.
First and Third Sunday of the Month:
The volunteer drivers will distribute food twice a month. The volunteer drivers will load and unload the food items. Picking up from the food pantry will be on Sunday between 11:00AM-11:30 AM Scheduling of the routes will be coordinated with the Team leader, it usually takes two to three hours
SSL hours will not calculated towards delivery.

Description
AMSS is a non-profit organization created to empower older adults 55 years from diverse communities - along with their families - with the information and resources in Montgomery County, to address health and long-term care needs.
Programs:
* Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) Scholarship Program
*Halal Meals on Wheels: AMSS Ambassadors are reaching out to an increasing number of isolated, underserved, and often chronically disabled, diverse older people through friendly phone calls, home visits, and the delivery of bi-weekly hot halal meals, non-perishable food, and fresh produce. In addition, AMSS distributes gift cards and food baskets during the Holy month of Ramadan and special holiday events.
*AMSS Advanced Care OUtreach Ambassadors (ACOA): AMSS recruited and trained 25, multi-cultural, multi-lingual, Outreach Ambassadors in areas of advanced care to assist terminally ill patients and their families.
