The mission of the National LGBTQ Society is to create a safe space and safe environment for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies through our purpose of providing meaningful support, resourceful resources, and education.
The National LGBTQ Society is currently seeking a volunteer to serve as our Board Treasurer.
This person would report to our President, and Executive Director.
The Board Treasurer role is the lead board director for financial management and financial oversight. The board treasurer is required to reconcile our bookkeeping through Quickbooks and bank statements, develop financial policies for funds access, check-signing access, handling of small cash expenses. They will also work with the President to ensure that bills are paid on time. The treasurer is also responsible for completing a annual audit report, and is required to prepare monthly budget and banking updates. They are also required to attend all board meetings. If necessary, the treasurer would be the chair of the finance committee if such committee is enacted. This person will also be responsible for updating our fundraising platforms with donations and importing or uploading manual donations (such as cash and checks) and donor information to our online platform.
This person is required to complete a background check, and must be trusted since this is an important position. This role requires you to have bookkeeping or accounting experience and should have basic math skills. This role is VIRTUAL, however we need someone local and you must be willing to come to our office space in Bloomington MN.
