ORGANIZATION: Family Service Rochester

You may be familiar with Meals on Wheels, the national senior nutrition program that assists older adults with access to a nutritious meal delivered with a friendly smile. Here in Rochester, volunteers are essential to the operation of this service. Meals on Wheels would not be possible without the hundreds of volunteers that help each year!

We are looking for local businesses willing to help deliver Meals on Wheels 4-5 times for one month.

Here’s a bit more info about the delivery process:

  • Meal pick-up is at 11:15 am on your delivery day.
  • Pick up location: Shorewood Senior Campus (2115 2nd Street SW, Rochester, MN).
  • Drivers are given a hotpack, a cooler, and a clipboard with the delivery information.
  • Drivers deliver to each stop listed on the clipboard route card.
  • Each route usually has 6-13 stops, and from start, to finish, it takes approx.1-1.5 hours.
  • Once the driver has delivered all the meals, the hotpack, cooler, and clipboard are returned to Shorewood.
  • Done!

If your business is able to help deliver and contribute to this important community cause, please reach out to our volunteer team at 507-287-2010 or volunteers@familyservicerochester.org
