PHP is currently looking for enthusiastic board members interested in supporting our vision. The "ideal candidate" would be passionate about our mission to help support parents and be willing to make a time commitment.

We are looking for Board Members who will join our Fundraising Committee. The Role of the Fundraising Committee is to develop, implement, and monitor fundraising plans.

The mission of Parents Helping Parents is to Empower Parents to Nurture their children and Build Stronger Families. Parenting may feel hard under the best conditions. It is a non-profit organization that offers free parent support services that are respectful of parents’ privacy.

Our free, 24/7, anonymous hotline, known as the Parental Stress Line, allows help to be just a phone call away for anyone needing support as they care for children. We receive approximately 5000 calls annually, and roughly 30% come from outside the state of Massachusetts. PHP also manages weekly parent support groups based in the community and prisons, early release houses, and sober houses. Our parent support services are trauma-informed: parents are provided a safe, non-judgmental environment, and empowering: parents are supported to develop their solutions to the difficulties they face. PHP staff provides training and ongoing support to our volunteer group facilitators and telephone hotline counselors.

Responsibilities of Board Members

Parents Helping Parents requires that its Directors:

1. Regularly attend board meetings and important related meetings.
2. Make a serious commitment to participate actively in committee work. 3. Volunteer for and willingly accept assignments and complete them thoroughly and on time.
3. Stay informed about committee matters, prepare well for meetings, and review and comment on minutes and reports.
4. Get to know other committee members and build a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus.
5. Be active participants in the PHP’s annual evaluation and planning efforts. 7. Participate in fundraising for the organization.
6. We welcome professionals skilled in business development, communications, marketing, and event planning.
