Become a host family with Homeless Youth Connection (HYC) and make a lifelong impact on a homeless teen.
Make a difference by hosting a homeless teen from Flagstaff this year. Volunteers are needed to host students, ages 13 - 21, who are enrolled in Flagstaff high schools and experiencing homelessness. Volunteers can meet with the student beforehand to confirm that they are a good fit for their home!
Host families provide food and shelter, while HYC delivers case management services. Host families receive a monthly stiped to help offset expenses! The host family would offer safe and stable housing for the youth until the end of the academic year. Host families ensure that homeless teens don't have to drop out of high school due to a lack of safe housing!
HYC host families come in all shapes and sizes! Single parents or adults, two-parent families (with or without children), and retired couples all make incredible host families for HYC youth.
There are thousands of homeless high schoolers in Arizona. Are you ready to be part of the solution and make a difference in the life of a homeless teen? Sign up today to become a host family for a homeless teen in your own community.

Mission Statement
HYC’s mission is to eliminate barriers to graduation for homeless youth and create lasting solutions for a successful future through community support and increased awareness. Our vision is that homelessness will not limit a youth’s opportunity for a successful future.
Description
There are more than 8,000 homeless youth, grades 9-12, in Arizona. Nationally, 75% of homeless youth drop out of high school. HYC aims to support unhoused youth so they can stay in school and graduate. If a homeless youth does not have to worry about where they are going to sleep that night or where their next meal is coming from, they can focus on staying in school and earning a diploma. HYC serves homeless youth ages 13-21 who are attending local high schools in Maricopa County and Flagstaff, Arizona. Youth are provided with basic necessities, case management, housing, life skills coaching, and opportunities for employment to ensure they have the resources to stay in school, complete their education, and have a chance at a brighter future.
