What if you dedicated one year to fighting poverty in America, while gaining new skills, learning about nonprofit work, and building a valuable network?
Join AmeriCorps VISTA to serve your community. Applicants must be US citizens and be at least 18 years old.
Think Tank, Inc. (located in Springfield) works with nonprofits across Ohio to place AmeriCorps VISTAS in a variety of full-time, one-year positions.
Benefits include a monthly stipend, monthly living allowance, childcare & healthcare benefits, an educational end of service award, and more!

Ohio Family Cares Association
Being a change agent is your role with OFCA, the a statewide advocacy organization for primary, kinship, foster, & adoptive families that are touched by the child welfare system. OFCA's in-depth look at legislation and the child welfare system illuminate where change can and must happen.
VISTA Activity
The VISTA Member tasks include: 1) assist in a Family Review of Racism in child welfare with a focus on issues of "Parenting while poor" - includes interviews, analysis, and writing with a team; 2) help to develop a program for Primary Parent Leadership and Advocacy - includes, contacts with agencies & families, grant writing, and video/training; 3) increase communication with members and sponsors of OFCA with a goal to build capacity - includes media updating, creating publicity.
