ECCL Advocacy Council Advisors (ACA) are senior leaders entrusted with counseling and supporting selected ECCL Advocacy Council Chairpersons. Our Councils currently include Safety, Health, Environment, Educational, Community/Economic Progress, and Culture & Recreation. We seek two experienced business leaders to fill these two ACA positions.
Acting as a mentor to Council Chairpersons, this rewarding, satisfying, and gratifying position oversees activities, providing counsel, advice, and support. Your prior business or organization leadership experience provides you with an opportunity to share those skills in civic engagement.

ECCL Advocacy Council Advisors
Reports To: President
An Advocacy Council Advisor (ACA) is a senior leader entrusted with counseling and supporting selected ECCL Advocacy Council Chairpersons. Acting as a mentor to Council Chairpersons, this rewarding, satisfying, and gratifying position oversees plans and activities, providing advice, counsel, and support. ECCL Councils currently include Safety, Health, Environment, Educational, Community/Economic Progress, and Culture & Recreation.
Supported by the ECCL Executive Management Team (EMT), the ACA provides information and recommendations to the EMT on the performance and activities of Councils,’ learned through regular meetings with Council Chairpersons.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates closely with the president and EMT, complimenting the EMT’s talents and capabilities.
- Serves as a Servant Leader providing empathetic leadership to Council Chairpersons, maintaining an open-door policy supporting volunteer activity.
- Functions as a coach encouraging self-motivation to accomplish tasks and goals.
- Leads the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals.
- Participates in leadership planning and attracting, retaining, and developing interested volunteers.
- Guides Council Chairpersons to secure resources needed for Council activity.
- Guides Council Chairpersons regarding EMT activity requests.
- Cultivates mutually beneficial relationships with local officials, business representatives, and civic leadership.
- Provides reports to the president as requested.

The time expended is estimated at 10-12 hours a month.
