ORGANIZATION: UNBROKEN DREAMS INC

Unbroken Dreams is an organization that helps people who are experiencing homelessness and people who have been previously incarcerated. We are beginning a program where a small group of participants (4-5 per class) are taught skills that help them become self-sufficient. We are looking for people who feel comfortable teach the following skills: computer skills (excel, word, internet, email), career coaching (resume creation, job interview skills), interpersonal skills (reconnecting with families, support groups, conflict resolution, effective communication, anger skills, life skills), and financial skills (opening a bank account, online banking, money management, savings, retirement). You do NOT have to be a professional in these fields. If you feel that you could help someone with the basics, we need you! Our classes will begin in April and continue throughout the year. There will not be a set schedule as classes will be held at different locations throughout the county and at various times. We will let you know when and where the classes are being taught and you can determine your eligibility based on your schedule.

About UNBROKEN DREAMS INC

Location:

8935 RESERVE MANOR DR, TAMPA, FL 33626, US

Mission Statement

To offer people who have found themselves on difficult times the opportunity to fulfill their potential and move towards an independent lifestyle and positive future.

Description

Unbroken Dreams was established as a non-profit organization to help less fortunate people develop self-esteem and rebuild their lives through housing, health, education, and employment services aimed at restoring the resident as a responsible member of the community. We provide long-term housing and life skills training for homeless families, forgotten veterans, and people who have been previously incarcerated as they move from dependent to self-sufficient lifestyles.

Unbroken Dreams not only provides life-changing benefits for the formerly incarcerated, displaced veterans, and homeless, but also makes a direct impact on the health and vitality of the local community. It gives people who are not making an income a chance to learn valuable skills that can change their family’s life by providing a means of making income. The higher the income that is earned, the more taxes that are paid to the community, which will benefit others because it will help raise funds for infrastructure, schools, and other important programs to assist those in need. Additionally, people who have their fundamental needs of housing and jobs taken care of are less likely to get in trouble, which decreases crime and recidivism in the community.
