HELP OUT: Inclusive Hike

Directly impact the lives of people with disabilities by making their hike a fun and rewarding experience.
Volunteer responsibilities are twofold: 1) Walk with participants and socialize with them throughout the hike. They want to make new friends! 2) Keep an eye out to make sure the participants you are with are feeling well. Make sure to take breaks in the shade as needed and that everyone is drinking water. Volunteers will be provided with drawstring bags that contain extra waters, snacks, and mini first aid kits to provide to participants.
Select volunteers who are interested may be asked to push participants in their all-terrain wheelchairs (inquire upon arrival).
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Registration: You must RSVP on the Limitless Adventures website for each event you volunteer for (registration with HandsOn only is not sufficient). If this is your first time volunteering with Limitless Adventures, please also fill out their one-time registration form prior to the hike.
Attire: Closed-toe shoes, comfortable hiking clothes (e.g., shorts, t-shirt and hat).
Bring: Please bring a waterbottle and wear sunscreen.
Physical Ability: Volunteers should be able to walk 3-5 miles at a moderate pace, including mild elevation gain/declines. Limitless Adventures does their best to accommodate all levels of physical ability; please inquire if you require specific accommodations.
Weather: Limitless Adventures will notify volunteers the morning before the hike if it will be canceled due to poor weather conditions.

Limitless Adventures is a nonprofit organization that provides outdoor recreational experiences for people with disabilities. Their primary offering is hiking, though they periodically offer other activities such as surfing, sailing, and fishing. Limitless Adventures was founded on the belief that everyone, regardless of ability, deserves to experience the beauty of nature and all of its benefits. They aspire to create an inclusive, social community in which their participants have fun and build lasting friendships.
