Recruiting Organization: AIMM - Marine Environment Research Association

AIMM is a non-governmental, non-profit environmental organization that since 2010 has been dedicated to promoting research, education and conservation regarding marine species and ecosystems. We are based in the Algarve region, in the south of Portugal, where we carry out most of our activities, but we are also involved in projects in other parts of the country and abroad.

We are currently looking for a volunteer to work part-time at our Field Station for the 2022 season, as a cook. We need a person to manage the food preparation of the team and interns.

Volunteering:

This position is on a voluntary basis;

The start is scheduled for April 1, 2022 until November 30, 2022. If you are interested but can't stay the whole season, talk to us anyway;

We offer food and accommodation at the Field Station where we accommodate our researchers and interns.

Goals:

Be sustainable - try to use the vegetables we grow at our little farm;

Prepare food - 2 meals a day for the whole team.

Profile:

Experience in cooking (prefered);

English or Portuguese speaker;

Capacity of organization;

And be open-minded!

Ferreiras, Albufeira - Portugal

Other information:

From March to December we always welcome people of different nationalities, areas and ages for the courses and internships so you will have the opportunity to socialise with them;

When possible, you can go out to sea on the AIMM research boat to see our field work and animals in the wild. See for yourself the researchers and marine biologists in action and learn with them about the animals found in the South of Portugal.
