Braille Institute's Santa Barbara Center needs volunteers to assist at their front desk. Duties include answering the phone and transferring calls, greeting visitors, assisting students and various administrative duties. No experience in working with people who are blind and visually impaired is necessary. Training will be provided. Come join our community!

Shifts are available Monday-Friday, one to two days per volunteer.

Description
Braille Institute offers a variety of services to people who are blind and visually impaired, from mobility and technology training, to low vision rehabilitation and home visits, to arts and exercise classes, to a vast library of braille and audio titles for every age, and more. Each year, we help tens of thousands of people regain and maintain their independence. Thanks to generous donations, Braille Institute services are available free of charge.

- We ask that Receptionist Volunteers commit to a regular schedule of one shift per week.
- Braille Institute requires that all volunteers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including booster. Proof of vaccination is required.
